Analysing the Coruña Corpus: Subjectivity and Intersubjectivity Markers

This paper aims to analyse the concepts of subjectivity and intersubjectivity in scientific writing through use stance adverbs perhaps possibly. These act as markers authors’ presence expressing their views, a covert relationship between these authors corresponding readership. The material used for this study includes four sub-corpora Coruña Corpus English Scientific Writing: CETA (Corpus Texts on Astronomy), CEPhiT Philosophy Texts), CHET History CELiST Life Sciences Texts). Two represent so-called soft sciences, other two hard which will allow comparison. results might argue against generally-assumed tendency history that discourse has moved from being author-centred object-centred. Perhaps it is simply impossible writers science disappear completely texts.
